About the Artist: Patty Berry is a ceramic artist based in Truro on Cape Cod. She creates functional artwork inspired by the beautiful environment of the National Seashore.
Recently Patty has returned to her two-dimensional artistic roots with linoleum and wood block printing. She applies her block prints and other photographic images onto her pottery using an iron oxide transfer technique. Once the pots are glaze fired, transfers are applied and then a third firing creates the finished product, microwave and dishwasher safe. Patty’s love for animals and the natural landscape come through in each handcrafted piece, each intended to transform the mundane moments of life into a rich and joyous experience.
